Autism acting up....

What happened tonite was an example of his ASD acting up. Was going to JP to run some errands. Had no intention of bringing the kids along coz they had their dinner. But Aqil wanted to tag along. And tonite was one of the many occasions when he wants his bro & sis to come along even tho big bro & big sis didn't want to.
So reluctantly, the bro & sis followed after being persuaded. Then in the car, he started acting up again. He wanted me to sit with then at the back so the husbern was like the chauffeur in front. And then he wanted us to squeeze together...and when one of us didn't, he started screaming. Yes...the disorder was high functioning.
So when we reached JP...walked over frm carpark to the mall, took the lift up to the ground floor. And then he saw a kid in a stroller...he started asking for his "baby car". When we refused & tried to 'trick' him that we didn't bring the stroller...he started screaming & crying. He refused to moved. The husbern tried carrying him but he struggled & kicked. So the husbern had to go back to the car to get the stroller.
While waiting for the husbern, Aqil saw the Banquet nxt door. He knows there's chicken rice...so he asked for chicken rice. But I was able to coax him and tell him to wait for dad before we go over for chicken rice. He understood and he was ok, playing with the bro & sis while waiting for the dad aka the husbern. So once the husbern was done, we went over to the Banquet which was full of people. Nevertheless, we managed to get ourselves a table.
And then he started acting up again. He wanted to sit at another table which was already occupied. We tried coaxing him but he actually went over to the other table and started 'shooing' the diner away ~ "shoo! go away!" he said. When I tried to talk to him, he refused to listen & started screaming & crying. I then tried to bring him back to our table but he threw himself to the ground and cried loudly.
I had no choice but to grab him and carry him out, placed him back in the stroller & buckled him up so that he can't run away.
His screaming & crying continued all the way to the carpark. Along the way, he was kicking & crying trying to get the buckle off. As usual, when such 'drama' happens...we'll be getting the stares & the glares & the looks.
Even after reaching our car, he continued his tantrums, refusing to get into the car. The husbern had to carry him and put him in...
As we moved off, the crying didn't not subside...until we were out of the mall, towards the expressway. He knew we are getting farther frm the mall, he started to tone down and said in an almost pleasing voice if we can turn around.
But we were almost halfway back home...so we told him that we'd go tmrw instead and that triggered off a new round of wails!
Back at our carpark, he refused to get out of the car and the husbern had to carry him again. And when we got in the house, he refused to take off his shoes. I told him that he can't go into the rooms if he didn't take off his shoes. With the ASD acting up, he tried walking to the room, when I refused to allow him to come in, he threw himself on the floor again.
That's when the husbern had to grab to cane! As the husbern aka the dad approached him, he started to tone down...and he asked for his nenek. Clever him huh? Of coz the cane didn't land on him, glad that the cane trick worked! So took off the shoes, made him milk...gave him the iPad and off to the room he went.
And poor bro & sis went silent the moment Aqil started acting up. Nope...our hands nvr land on him. Coz that's him. ;)
And big bro & sis understood...Aqil still doesn't understand lots of things. ;)

We are sorry you didn't get your chicken rice tonite sweetheart. We'll hv chicken rice tmrw k! ;)) ❤
