Tough Week

This is the PSLE marking week, supposed to be on marking duty for 4 days but unable to. A tough n tiring week it is with the kids down with Scarlet Fever.
Started with Ariq who deceloped fever on Sunday...remained strong n cool as always. Taking the pain in his stride but was crying in pain at night. Brought him to KKH to be diagnosed with Scarlet Fever.
Rashes all over his body and 'stawberry-like' tongue as described by the doctor.
Next to be down was Arisya...fever and rashes and vomiting. Again was brought to KKH and doctor diagnosed as Scarlet Fever too. Both were given the normal fever medicines and anbiotics for Scarlet.
Been on discipline with the antibiotics, really worried with this fever. Read about the child who died an unnatural death which was started with fever. Even reminded of an ex-student who's life was totally changed after a fever.
And finally, Aqil too was down and attacked by Scarlet. Brought him to KKH but Aqil had to be admitted for further observation and tests.
Just wish for a healthy life for my angelz....nothing more.

Syawal 2011 ~ Balik Kampung Raya

Now that I have started blogging again, here I go! Haha!
Every year, yes every year...we'd go raya-ing at hubby's kampung. Well, none of my family members or relatives stay in a kampung anymore. Luckily, my hubby's still have sister and relatives staying in the rural areas.
This is a good experience for the kidz, let them get a taste of kampung life...in these dayz...we can easily count how many of the young generation knows what a kampung is like!
First stop is Pontian...sis-in-law, hub's aunties are there. Oh yes! And hub's grandaunt! She's is going strong! Love the lepat loy and burasak... these are Bugis people version's of ketupat and lemang!
Then, we went up to Senggarang, Batu Pahat. Another aunt of hub's. Even though it is the furthest, we'll alwayz go there for Raya and events. These are the batch of cousinz that hub is closed with!
And before heading home, there's Bandar Baru Uda and Taman Perling in JB. Both are hub's aunts too! Well, my father-in-law is the only son you see! Hee! And this is an annual thingy!

Syawal 2011 ~ Raya Pertama

Lucky for me, celebrating Raya is never a problem with my family or my husband's family. Every year, we'd be there for both families...without fail. As per norm, first day Raya will be with my family. And the first house is uncle's place coz granny is there. This year, we reached quite late, in-laws siblings came n thus were a lil taken up at home.
Nevertheless, met yp with the others and had great fun raya-ing and eating of coz! Not to mention meeting up with relatives which we may only get to see during such festive season.
In SG, anyone who is working...would really consider it a luxury to have some time with family! Hee!
Talked much, slipped the mind to broadcast that this year we are wearing red! Yup, this is one thing I love so much about Eid...all of us wearing the same colour, telling others that we are one united happy family!

Celebrated Mum's birthday

This is a really really super backdated post! My goodness, been like decades since I last blogged! Hee!
Well, this event is one that I thought must be included in my blog ~ mum's birthday celebration. Ask me when it was! Hahaha! Back in July! As per norm, everyone chipped in...this time I was the one who suggested FIKA. Eldest sis had a difficult time finding the bistro! Hee!
Nevertheless, the celebration went as planned, we had lunch at FIKA Swedish Cafe & Bistro. Lunch was superb and the place was awesome...especially for camwhoring! Hee!
After that, we proceeded to United Square. We went to the Swensen's there for the birthday cake ~ ice-cream cake! Simply love these kinda family bonding events... brings the family closer together!

Arisya's 6th Birthday Celebrationz!

This year we celebrated Arisya's birthday differently...no party at home. In fact it became a 3-fold celebration for my lil babe. ;)
The 1st celebration was a class party at school. Oh yes, she was excites abt it! Been asking abt it ever since we said we'd celebrate her birthday in school!
She was happy to have her classmates singing e birthday song for her. She was all dressed up w her lil wings which was bought frm Mini Princess!
Later that day, we celebrated w paternal grandparents...we went to Singapore Flyer n had dinner at Islamic. Then we headed to Icing Room where Arisya n Ariq DIYed the 2nd birthday cake! It was awesome! Then we headed home and Arisya cut her 2nd birthday cake!
Celebrations were paused and continued the next day. ;) This time we celebrated w maternal grandparentz n aunties n cuzzies! We went to Swensen's @ T2...coz granny is a lil fussy abt food. She only eats Asian food! So at Swensen's T2...we'd have all the choices! Hehe!
Arisya was super elated that she took photos w each n everyone! This time Arisya got an ice-cream cake. Yup! She got 3 different cakes for the 6th birthday! ;)

And alas! My lil babe was all smiles...Happy Birthday Sweetheart!

Gnomeo & Juliet!

A long, long way backdated post this is! Well, we actually brought the kidz out for a movie during the sch March break. It was Gnomeo n Juliet...we watched it at Eng Wah @ Westmall.

There was still some time after we got our tix, so we had something light to fill up e time.

Udders Ice Cream it was.

We bought waffle w 2 scoops of ice-cream! Ice-cream choice was cookies n cream and hazelnut...it was YUMMILICIOUS! ;)

The kidz luv it! As usual...bought popcorn for Arisya n nachos for Ariq!

Can't wait for the time when Aqil can join us for movies!

And feedback was...the kidz enjoyed Tangled more! Maybe becoz they do not know head or tail abt Romeo n Juliet. And they hv read abt Rapunzel thus they can appreciate the movie better! ;)

But was not disheartened...will alwayz bring them out for movies! ;)

Melaka with In-Laws!

Went to Melaka with parents-in-law during the school break. They wanted to eat ikan bakar at Umbai, Melaka. Erhm...wonder where they knew of the place :) So we set out around 10am that day. The timing was juz right, not too early. As it was a weekday, the checkpoints were clear! Great!
We had a light breakfast at Gelang Patah. Then we made another stop for light lunch at Machap. Nice place it is as there is playground for the kidz while we are enjoying our food! And the toilets there are clean too!
And so from Machap, it was a straight drive up to Melaka! I slept most of the time...hehehe! Poor hubby! We reached Melaka around 2pm. We went jalan-jalan....covered all the Malls there - Mahkota Parade, Hatten Mall n Dataran Pahlawan. Mum-in-law bought lotsa goodies! All the kidz got themselves books...they are no longer toys-crazy! Alhamdullilah! :P
After 4 hours of shopping and jalan-jalan, we set off for Umbai. It has been well-known for ikan bakar! We went there once with hubby's friends. So this is the 2nd time we're going there. Hubby is real good with the roads, he can remember the route quite easily!
And we had a sumptious dinner of ikan bakar and seafood! Finger-licking good!
